The Power of PRP for Equine Health: My Journey from Nursing to Regenerative Medicine

My name is Sylvia Silvestri and I have been a registered nurse for 30 years.

I worked in plastic surgery in Beverly Hills for 20 years (yes, with the docs you see on TV) before I started teaching  injectables and platelet-rich plasma procedures. 

My love of horses started when I was very young and I was able to fulfill my dream of owning my first horse in 2019.

I then rescued a dressage horse from the auction who had extensive training, but also needed a lot of maintenance. I quickly learned through my veterinarian procedures and options that could be done to make him feel more comfortable for his osteoarthritis and muscles.

PRP is a wonderful option as with humans it is all natural, creates increased blood flow, collagenesis, angiogenesis and encourages new tissue growth and increases healing time post surgery.

There are many studies confirming that platelet-rich plasma is a wonderful option for tendon injuries, wound healing, and bone and joint applications.
